Here we are, back in central Florida, running from the cold back home for a little bit and I had the chance to activate one of my favorite parks near Tampa.
Today saw me traveling to the Gulf of America! We are heading to central Florida for a little escape from the cold and we stopped in the town of Carabelle for a day. While here, since I brought a couple radios, we decided to goto St George Island State Park for a little fun at the end of the day.
All that aside, I started on 20 meters like I said earlier and had a great run of contacts of 26 QSOs in as many minutes.
It looks like things have been busy in my shack lately as I have been working on upgrading things here and there. One of those upgrades was to add a bidirectional power/swr meter to the beacon.
Back in July of this year I had activated my local state park, Cloudland Canyon State Park (US-2169) and through a series of unfortunate events, left my beloved Ten Tec Scout 555 HF radio behind in the parking lot. To say I was devastated is an understatement.

Well today was an extra good day in the park as I had several things go really well for me today. I was able to activate with the HF Signals sBitx transceiver in FT8 as well as CW and I worked a new country!
Today saw me wanting to stay dry and have some fun at my local park so I decided to setup and work some CW for a while. The initial plan was to only use CW, but I couldn’t leave FT8 out of the game when it came down to it…lol
